[ so, there's a lot going on lately, isn't there? after having been gone for a little while, marcos has been trying to catch up with everything that's gone on while he'd been away. it seems that the cassius thing is the big news and he has opinions on that but he's also got some other business to attend to. ]

so, i'm back. most people won't have noticed but if you did, i was gone for a little while, went home, got shot, came back, i'm fine.

[ long story short and all. ]

i know there's a lot going on and i'd hate to give people one more thing to think of but i'm gonna do it anyway. this is more an interest check than anything.

[ can't really move on anything now but with cassius looming like he is, it might be needed in the future. ]

there's a lot of people here that need help. and i want to help them. they've lost homes and needs safe places to stay, resources, that sort of thing. specifics will come later but i'm just trying to gauge if there's anyone out there that might want to do the same.

[ they couldn't all be soldiers and fighters and warriors, right? or maybe they could and marcos would go at it alone. that was fine too. he'd do it no matter what. ]

obviously, this could all be affected by whatever happens with these favors but i'm hoping cassius doesn't murder more people and call it 'necessary.' i'm not taking a favor, before anyone asks, but i can't fault anyone who does.

@ gaby, i'm back, by the way. i assume you might have noticed i was gone but i came back. seems like i did that to a few people. said something or promised something important and then disappeared. sorry.

it's a lot easier for me to get up again afterwards. i just don't want you to get hurt.

i don't want to get hurt but i'm not going to stop doing what needs to be done either.

and you can't always be around to be my shield either.

[ because he has some ideas of what she might say and he doesn't know if he likes any of them. ]

i just want to come with you if it's going to be dangerous. just in case.
or at least let me give you a back up plan.

[ she's not saying he can't do things. or that he can't go off on his own, if she's not able to be there. but she doesn't want another instance of him disappearing and her panicking about his well being. not if she can help it. ]

there's no way to tell when something is going to be dangerous, caroline.
we were going on a date when i got picked up by those gangs.
i was sleeping when i ended up back at home.
if we know it's going to be dangerous, yes, come with me.
but a trip to the store could be dangerous here.

then we'll make you an insurance policy.
if i can't get to you, you'll have something just in case.

i can make you a vial. a necklace or something. so you'll have my blood with you in case you run into problems.
i've seen it done before.

[ okay, that he could deal with. he doesn't ask what happens if he can't drink it for whatever reason. no need to go down that path. ]

if that's going to make you feel better, i can do that.

it would make me feel better if you didn't want to rush into dangerous situations all the time, but this would help.
you have to be careful if you drink it, though.

i don't rush into dangerous situations all the time. i do what i can to help people that need it. you do the same thing.

and what do i have to be careful for?

if you drink my blood and then go back and do something stupid and die, you're going to come back as a vampire.

so don't die.

something stupid like you did when you were trying to save everyone and died?

[ he's held that back for awhile but it slips out this time. she's harping on what's happened to him but he hadn't died and she's hadn't mourned him. ]
