[ so, there's a lot going on lately, isn't there? after having been gone for a little while, marcos has been trying to catch up with everything that's gone on while he'd been away. it seems that the cassius thing is the big news and he has opinions on that but he's also got some other business to attend to. ]

so, i'm back. most people won't have noticed but if you did, i was gone for a little while, went home, got shot, came back, i'm fine.

[ long story short and all. ]

i know there's a lot going on and i'd hate to give people one more thing to think of but i'm gonna do it anyway. this is more an interest check than anything.

[ can't really move on anything now but with cassius looming like he is, it might be needed in the future. ]

there's a lot of people here that need help. and i want to help them. they've lost homes and needs safe places to stay, resources, that sort of thing. specifics will come later but i'm just trying to gauge if there's anyone out there that might want to do the same.

[ they couldn't all be soldiers and fighters and warriors, right? or maybe they could and marcos would go at it alone. that was fine too. he'd do it no matter what. ]

obviously, this could all be affected by whatever happens with these favors but i'm hoping cassius doesn't murder more people and call it 'necessary.' i'm not taking a favor, before anyone asks, but i can't fault anyone who does.

@ gaby, i'm back, by the way. i assume you might have noticed i was gone but i came back. seems like i did that to a few people. said something or promised something important and then disappeared. sorry.

Nothing on this scale. I have more experience with personal catastrophes.

what do you mean by personal catastrophes?

I work in end of life care. What I mean is that I've worked with individuals and small groups but I have much less experience with managing communities.

[There are other things, but she'd rather not discuss them over the network, and not with someone she's never met face to face.]

i don't know if i'd call the people i helped a community but i don't think it's necessarily wrong. i didn't do it alone though which is why i'm asking here. because there are a lot of things involved including helping people through end of life stuff. we didn't have that. we had medical professionals but nothing like that. not that that's all he should do but it's good to know.

No, I don't think this is the sort of thing anyone can do alone. I just want you to know that I'm willing to help in more tangible ways too. I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

that's good because that's probably going to happen.

I'm not much of a fighter, though it doesn't sound like violence is part of your goal. If it is, I'll be abstaining. Otherwise no. I can handle suffering, and hardship, and ugliness, especially if I have a chance to help alleviate them.

violence isn't something i'm looking to use here, no. if we have to defend ourselves, we will but i've been violent enough in my life.

i just want to help people who can't help themselves. i'd say make sure you know how to defend yourself but we're not going to be going on full frontal assaults.

That's reasonable. I think the impulse to help is the right one. Sharing the weight of the world lightens the load for all of us. Thank you for voicing it.

least i can do. i've been wanting to do something like this for awhile but things kept getting in the way.
