[peter's only just gotten one roommate back to find that the other has gone missing. is he thinking clearly when he posts this? probably not, or perhaps he might specify which of his roommates seems to be gone.]

It sucks no matter how many times one of us seems to vanish without a trace.
But I have a practical question to ask all of you: how long is an acceptable amount of time to wait before I assume someone isn't coming back and pack up their things?

It's definitely not unheard of and I really hope so.

[of course, there's no guarantee that she'd remember her time here if she did, which is another conversation entirely.]

My roommate. Her name's Katelin Philips. She'd been here a really long time.

I talked to her on the network, but never really met her otherwise. I guess she sort of kept to herself, huh?

Yeah, I would say so. She was pretty private. [lying about who you are to almost every one of them probably had something to do with that too...]

Whatever her reasons... I'm sure they were important.

I know that some people have a hard time being open with others, too. Especially when so far from home.

It's good that you were able to be her friend, then.

Yeah. I think I might know one or two more of those people who happen to be here.

Getting them to open up's not easy but the end result's pretty nice.

Yeah, I know what you mean! Sometimes it just takes some time and effort to get someone to be open with you.

Do you have any other roommates? You shouldn't be alone.

Mmhmm. Not that I could imagine anyone not wanting to open up to you. You're super easy to talk to.
