Hi again.
So, I heard back from Morningstar about the tests. Before you get your hopes up, it's nothing good. At least, nothing that we can act on just yet.
Most of the compounds that they were able to identify were sedatives. We're lucky we took the tests when we did because they wouldn't be in our system for much longer. Of course, whoever cooked up this batch was making sure that it would work. It was a stronger version than usual. But still. Sedatives.
The other stuff is the real mystery. By other stuff, I mean "whatever made us do whatever they wanted us to do." They can't begin to guess who did it, except that it's someone professional. I think whatever got us falling in line was a special batch. That's as far as I can tell, anyway.
So, where do we go from here? That's a good question. Who has the lab and the materials and everything else to make that up and have enough for all of us, even those of us who are much larger than the rest? Is it safe to assume that it'd be here in New Amsterdam?
Whatever it is, whoever it is, I plan on finding them.

@connor.resnik
The line of work I'm interested in might send me down a path to finding a chemistry lab or something similar, but I highly doubt I'd have access if it really was such a large operation.

I was thinking that we'll want to do a second run of tests about what happened to us. There's the big and glaring question of you, but there's also the emotional sharing and everything connected with that. I'd like to see if there are any anomalies that show up that are similar.
Which is to say that I need to learn how to look for them in the first place.

We could go together, if you'd prefer, or I can send you the location when I track one down. I doubt I'll find any answers pertaining to my... condition... but I'd say it's worth a shot if it uncovers anything at all.

Does that sound right?

Are you referring to seedier establishments, such as clubs or warehouses that may act like fronts for that sort of activity?

If we don't have any luck with that, we might be out of luck.
I hope not.

As well as the implants in our heads.

What I would like to know is what prompted them to move us in the first place, as well as where. And why they went to such lengths to install the implant tech if they didn't intend us to ever make use of it.

I'm curious about why they'd install it, as well. That would be neurosurgery, and it would take someone highly skilled to pull it off. I'm certain that's far more normalized in this world, but they would need someone willing to break their hippocratic oath to work on us in the first place.

@loki.odinson
From my understanding, they'd also need somewhere to source such materials. They'd certainly need a lot of said substance to keep pacified.

The compliance drug would involve us having to identify the compounds and going from there.

[ he doesn't like feeling out of the loop on stuff, but who knew he'd be talking mortal drugs, ever? ]

That's an assumption. I know a bit of chemistry, but not enough to really stand by anything I'm saying here.
Sorry.

At least, not yet.
I was hoping that whoever made it would have been the only people who could make it, and what was in our system would have similar compounds to whatever's available. On the market, I guess. I'm not used to factoring in economics.
[Neither of them are.]
Now it's a matter of figuring out who would come up with an experimental drug to keep us compliant, and have the means to do so.
Which ... is way beyond even what Becca managed with Nightblood. Or the drug they used on Reapers. It seems like just about any big company could do that.
