@kylo.ren - november 4, 2511; locked to morningstar agents and contacts

Investigation into the leak that lead to the raid on Morningstar agents in September strongly suggests that the source might, in fact, be survivors of the crash in June.

It is time to consider moving on the UNA.

However, this poses several problems, particularly given that our goal is ultimately to reclaim the captured agents.

The first is determining their location; Morningstar has been unable to track the captured agents and it is likely that the UNA has a means to nullify or otherwise cloak the implants much in the way Morningstar has been able to do with the Displaced following each drop-off.

The second is extracting the agents once we have determined their location; this will place any rescuers directly in the path of UNA soldiers who are, as experience suggests, difficult to engage directly. It is also likely that in accomplishing this, the UNA will immediately suspect Morningstar which will lead to an elevation in hostility.

The most efficient way to acquire the information that will allow us to do both is to go to the source: capturing one of their soldiers.

To that end, the UNA has a base locally. Scouting for information will be difficult though not impossible.

Ideally, we will be looking to pin down movement patterns and shift times before moving onto outright capture; the soldiers work in groups. We will also need to secure a site to hold them once they’re in our custody.

Those that wish to assist are welcome, particularly those with abilities and experience beyond that which Morningstar can provide. Additionally, anyone wishing to weigh in on this plan or offer alternatives should do so now, as the longer the agents remain in UNA custody, the greater the risk to the rest of us.

( OOC NOTES:
1. while the tone of this post might give the impression that kylo ren has determined his course and will not be moved, we are in fact very open to suggestion and brainstorming.
2. this network is locked to morningstar agents and contacts. if you would like to be involved and have not signed up with morningstar yet, the page is here.
3. any ideas discussed here will likely be referred back to in the upcoming event, despite the fact that this network is happening prior to knowledge of the event.
4. mods wanted to clarify that there is only a single base in the city. )

It's a stretch and possibly outlandish, but not too much so, given where and when we are. History does point to governments shipping off convicts to faraway colonies to live out the rest of their days in abject misery.

[ That's how they got Australia. America, too, technically. Rule Britannia, etc etc. ]

They could just as well be keeping somewhere them on this planet, between the cities. Nobody else is allowed to go there.

I don't know the satellites could find something like that, or if they'd be able to hide it, and I don't know if that would be easier for them than shipping them off to the far side of the moon.

They'd be fools to let our people loose among the colonists, though.

[but if there's one thing jon's managed to learn it's to never underestimate the sheer stupidity of the people that hate you.]

There are rumblings of growing Morningstar sentiment amongst the colonists. It's already out of their hands.

But to your point about locations between the cities, yes, it is the more likely option. I found information on research outposts primarily established in areas to document environmental changes and ensure that the atmospheric stabilisers are running properly. They're infrequently visited by supply drops and not much else. (Perhaps @prom.argentum can learn more about these transports via his job.)

If those outposts exist, I have no doubt there could be more out there and off the record. UNA information is nearly impossible to access and the UN is only slightly less so.
[ She's maintaining her stellar reputation in government in order to get a job at the embassy itself in the future. Baby steps. ] But those can't be our only avenues of intel.

There must be service workers, perhaps engineers. They're too afraid of artificial intelligence to build machines that can manage themselves.

Precisely. And people need food, even prisoners.

[ Assuming they're still alive after they've served their use. ]

[omg lady peggy likes his idea]

So it's a matter of getting in the servants' quarters.

[this is weirdly familiar, like they're trying to infiltrate a castle on westeros.]

Do we have any way of tracking these people down without UN records?

Everyone's information is available to a degree.

[ Search her name, her address and place of work will come up. As it will for them all. The only people wiped from the databases seem to be UNA recruits and the nurse that was murdered a few weeks before her own arrival in August. But that's neither here nor there. ]

Looking into whoever works at the outposts, and under what corporation, is certainly interesting. It may or may not yield information on this particular case, but it's a piece of the greater puzzle of this world nonetheless.

We could use people there. And we could talk to the people that are there already.

[jon doesn't have much hope for these agents, but there's a lot they can learn through this operation nevertheless.]

Yes, we certainly could. It may take time, but patience is often the name of the game with matters such as this. I've asked Prompto to look into the transports to see if there's anything that stands out.

If it's of interest to you, you could look into what information is publicly available about these outposts and the companies they're associated with. We have a number of contacts working in the corporations and their subsidiaries (some Morningstar, some not); I've no doubt we can follow whatever lead you uncover there. When the time comes.

[research for lady carter!! he has no idea where to start with this but he won't let her down.]

I'll look into it and let you know what I find.

i could look into it if it'd prove beneficial to have that info
dunno how fast i can have it happen but it'll be worth a try

if i know what exactly i'm trying to look for?

Prompto, thank you; it's not urgent, more a curiosity, but whatever you can find is better than nothing, especially since we're not entirely sure what we're looking for.

Perhaps what sort of supplies are being sent to these outposts, where they're located, maybe if any personnel accompanies these deliveries? No one seems to know much about the facilities. I'm curious if they are what the paperwork claims they are — or if they're the only stops those trains make.

okay, if it's not urgent then i'll work on it when it can and so that way it won't be super suspicious if i'm poking my nose a lot into places

i'll report back if i find anything substantial
or even if i don't at least we can know that it isn't

I am confident you'll be the very picture of discretion. Trains have held secret cargo for centuries, and I doubt this one is no exception.

i'd imagine you'd know if it's an earth thing, i'm not too familiar with trains and secret cargo back in eos

i'll keep everyone posted
