hi, everybody!

i just wanted to take a minute to say welcome to all of our new faces! in case i don't get to meet you in person, my name is caroline forbes, and i run the displaced welcoming committee with @prom.argentum and @sora.sky! if you need anything while you're getting settled, we'll be around to help in any way we can!

for anyone who's on rescue duty:

• any of the cots with gift baskets are available for anyone you bring back! there should be fresh towels, a pillow, and sheets on all the open beds. 
• dinner is at eight sharp — don't be late! if you want to bring anything from the harvest festival to share, it would be really appreciated!!! 
• we are still trying to get more donations — clothes, linens, food, even activities and crafts for the safehouse! anything that doesn't require an id would be great. anything you don't want anymore but don't think is worth donating to the safehouse can go to the morningstar booth at the festival!

for anyone who's new and just joining us:

• we have a really helpful new arrivals guide that you can download and read any time.
• if you have any questions about anything in there, you can tag them in this post (@caroline.forbes will tag me!) and they can come to you. just be sure to give your name somewhere in your comment, or you'll just be anonymous!
• if nobody told you yet, the first day is kind of a headache. you might feel better if you get some sleep!

I'd be happy to, but I don't know who to talk to, so it seems we're both in the same position.

Admittedly, my diplomatic knowledge is largely from afar. Watching politicians and their dealings and the like.

I find watching other people do things tends to be pretty different to doing it yourself.

Also, he's maybe still a little sore you made fun of his big guns. They solve problems pretty well! ]

(It's not like he'll say he murdered people to help his evil politician father rise into power so he could reveal that he was evil at the last second.)]

How about we agree to let me try before you train your guns on them?

Seeing as how I don't have any guns at all right now, that's a pretty easy sell.

Nor do you have a name, so we can toss our agreement out as if it never happened.

Why don't we make a game of it? See if you can find out who I am, and I can do the same for you.

This person is either a child or a part time super-villain or something, who delivers clue cards with question marks drawn on the back. Riddle me this. ]

I'm not really keen on asking every person here their opinions on guns and politicians until I find you.

Games are more fun when there's an actual incentive.

[ Learning the name of a slightly annoying stranger who so far has been vague and unhelpful is not really in the top five items of John's to do list, honestly. ]
