hi, everybody!

i just wanted to take a minute to say welcome to all of our new faces! in case i don't get to meet you in person, my name is caroline forbes, and i run the displaced welcoming committee with @prom.argentum and @sora.sky! if you need anything while you're getting settled, we'll be around to help in any way we can!

for anyone who's on rescue duty:

• any of the cots with gift baskets are available for anyone you bring back! there should be fresh towels, a pillow, and sheets on all the open beds. 
• dinner is at eight sharp — don't be late! if you want to bring anything from the harvest festival to share, it would be really appreciated!!! 
• we are still trying to get more donations — clothes, linens, food, even activities and crafts for the safehouse! anything that doesn't require an id would be great. anything you don't want anymore but don't think is worth donating to the safehouse can go to the morningstar booth at the festival!

for anyone who's new and just joining us:

• we have a really helpful new arrivals guide that you can download and read any time.
• if you have any questions about anything in there, you can tag them in this post (@caroline.forbes will tag me!) and they can come to you. just be sure to give your name somewhere in your comment, or you'll just be anonymous!
• if nobody told you yet, the first day is kind of a headache. you might feel better if you get some sleep!

anything is better than blah gray cement.
maybe a blue for the sleeping areas, something warmer in the kitchen? yellow or a pale green?

i'd ask better homes and gardens but i don't think pinterest is still a thing

I'll defer to your judgment, but my vote goes for the pale green for the kitchen. Let me help you paint, though.

And who needs Pinterest when we have the Welcome Committee?

i was planning on it!
we might have to wait a few days until this group's not on house arrest anymore to have the room to move things around, but then we should definitely get the painting done

Do you have more hands on deck than just the three of you?

we've gotten a couple volunteers! and hopefully once people realize we're not trying to poison them with spaghetti, they'll be on board to lend a hand... or they'll help out to get me to stop asking.
either way, we'll get it done!

you could get creative with the painting if you wanted to! i feel like just plain walls could benefit from... you know, art ?

I agree, but you know, I'm not the only one who can sling some art on the walls once we've chosen a base color.

get one artist going though and then the rest will follow, right! i'll make a formal request to artists (and others) who want to try their hand at it

Not only that, but I’d like to see some of your own work displayed, too.

i've already picked out the hologram frames for some pictures

Good. It'd be a shame for you not to pick out a few pieces from your portfolio and show them off. An artist is a lot of things, but he shouldn't be shy.

i don't think i'm ever really shy about my photography
but, you know, whatever lightens up the mood in the safehouse

Exactly. I’m thinking a few photos of your favorite spots around the city. Again, less containment zone.

ohhh maybe like a visual map of the different spots in the city!
may be somewhat redundant but could be an interesting aesthetic

We'll figure out an overarching design that isn't too redundant. It doesn't have to only be photographs.

Consider it a collaborate project, between you and me.

Then that's kind of them, but I really do get enough sleep when the time allows for it.
