Hey. There's a lot of old information on this, and that's great. Really. But it's also a l o t for newcomers to try and sift through. There was some talk of a guide, which would be awesome? Even if it's just a basic rundown of world stuff that isn't the wiki-ish pages of the internet that just assume we know crap, it'd be helpful.
Back home, I was on a team called the Young Avengers. We went on a multiverse jumping spree for several months, so this isn't my first rodeo. It is the first place I've been to where we woke up with our abilities locked away and given new ones. Super weird btw, I'm not fond of it. As someone who already went through the whole "traumatic event waking up your mutant powers" thing, I'm not up for round two. But it means I've got some history with jumping around to different places.
I've got a place outside the safe house already, but it's not really a space meant for more than one or MAYBE two people, and we've got three. So if anyone has ideas for an easy job to get into for new arrivals, let me know? Disclaimer: I've never had an actual job before. And I didn't have much of an idea of what to set up an ID with since, I really don't have any experience doing workforce things.

So... advice for figuring it out, then?

some people seem to respond to extreme stress
[ her own back home and here, as it turned out, triggered by emotions gone into overdrive. ]
some people have found it easier to meditate on it
it's okay if you don't figure it out right away
[ she's begun to suspect that these abilities tie into people's identities in a sense, though not necessarily in an obvious way. she's always been thrifty, fitz had his history with portals, prompto and his camera.
she might be able to give better suggestions once she knew a little more about the person in question that needed them. ]

I've never meditated before, but I could try. I want to know!
[ Being put back in a human body without her consent, being taken here without her consent, being given an unidentified ability without her consent -- Catherine is struggling for some grasp of control on this situation, and it's not coming easily. ]

it's effective, but not exactly fun either
meditation's not a bad route. i've got some tapes i pulled from a local zen garden project, maybe give these a go and see if you get anywhere?
[ self-help books, as damian mentioned, are still the rage even in the future, though they've mostly transitioned into multi-sensory vr technology these days. for the old-fashioned, there are audiobooks and digital pamphlets available in libraries and common collection; it's these that daisy sends over to catherine's network inbox. the collection focuses mostly on what would be considered more eastern lines of thought — unlocking your inner buddha on one, for example, likely considered outdated now, but the guided meditation has a digital dog-ear and scribbled notes from daisy and prompto's last session. ]
feel free to holler at me any time, inbox is always open :)

[ Catherine's not exactly a sit down and contemplate the universe type, but if it means she might get closer to understanding what's happened to her -- what's been done to her -- she'll do a lot more than listen to a guided meditation. ]
Daisy, right? Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

and when you're ready for some hands-on samurai school, let me know.

Hopefully no actual swords. No one wants me with a sword.

i do training sessions for people so that they can get more familiar with their powers. when you feel up to it, come on down.

Thanks! So, maybe an obvious question... but what's your power?

i don't exactly have a fancy name for it, but it's basically superpowered recycling
i can take things apart and put the pieces back together into something else

How much technical knowledge do you have? Would you be willing to try some things out with me?
