Hey.
I need volunteers for power practice. I'll be tweaking your senses. Nothing permanent, I'll stop when you say so, and I'll owe you a beer or a favor. The favor can be food.
Let me know.

Those are what you had before here?
I'm down.

That's great. I'm sure you've had other volunteers so I'm happy to work around your schedule.
[ that's less depressing than saying his schedule is mostly open because he's been dragging his feet in laying down any roots here ]

Last question, you're not a god/demi-god/forest sprite/nymph/pixie/bullshit computer demon/etc?
no subject
But no, I'm none of those things.

[ one day she'll understand what the fuck she walked into when Shadow left her that coin, but that day is some time away yet ]
Great, then we're on. We gonna need somewhere bigger than the safehouse to test your thing?
no subject
[ Several someones, actually. Both Zola and Ultron would hate the descriptor so he might just steal it for future use. ]
Yes, actually. The safe house wouldn't be the best place for testing strength or running speed. I can scout a location and get back to you, unless you know a place?

[ she just really, really doesn’t want to bump into anyone from home in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. speaking of, she drops a pin to an abandoned warehouse building on a small industrial estate a few neighbourhoods out of the way of the safehouse. ]
Empty, pretty big. I can make sure it’s out of use when we need it.
no subject
That should be perfect. I'll meet you there evening after tomorrow, then?
no subject
[ because they do! dumb shit! like this! ]
Yeah. 6pm, I’ll see you then.
no subject
Works for me. See you then.

until a couple of days later when Laura makes her way to the warehouse, fifteen minutes or so early, chomping on a wrap of fried vegetables and letting herself in with the crash of sliding doors. it's unlocked, she'd put in the order beforehand, but she wanders over to slam the lights on and cast the vast, deserted hall into dreary light.
after that she'll be inside, checking around behind boxes and barrels shoved into corners for any sign of projects she's not been let in on or stashes that shouldn't be kept here. ]
