[ The message is out and the AI (?) known as DAWN has reached out to all of New Amsterdam in reply to the call. In response, El has created a temporary network to facilitate communication between the Displaced and the presumed AI. The network and its contents will be deleted within seven days of the posting, at 21:59. That means there will be no referencing conversations past November 14th. There can be no private filters between PCs on this post, and pings will also not work.

Those who sign into the network will be prompted with a basic input box and text that displays "Enter your handle." For this post, the PCs will be able to create their own temporary handles when talking with DAWN.

El will chip in when needed, and the PCs are free to converse with themselves. Those who want to speak with DAWN can under this toplevel. ]

Displaced, this is a temporary network that I've set up for the express purpose of making contact with DAWN. It, and everything on it, will be wiped in one week's time.

I'll be keeping an eye on everything that's discussed here and intervene if necessary.

We'd be foolish not to, given our circumstances. They have answers.

We can't hold them to the same moral standards as the rest of us. It would be foolish to believe that we could. If you read most of everything here, you can easily see why. They aren't like us, and something tells me that a difference will be feared most.

We aren't like most of this world, either.

I'm just worried. Humanity over a few lives. It's still--people's lives. They were someone's family.

A very good point. The reasoning could be one that's not to our benefit.

Pretending it's something we'd help with out of the goodness of our hearts isn't to our advantage. I understand that a lot of people here are frustrated by how little they know for how long they've been here. They will help.

But perhaps it should be done without a veil over their eyes.

We don't have to be friends to work together.

But if this AI thinks their purpose is more important than a few of our lives, we could invite a lot of trouble.
