i'm not the religious type.
[ the image attached might make the context for that statement a bit more clear: one of the shrines. it's one of the two-dimensional ones, painted across a wall. the blue stands out, but that's not what's got dutch's attention for now but the geometric patterns and shapes framing the scene ]
think those symbols mean anything?
[ if these are all made by one artist, someone's been very busy indeed. if the symbols don't mean anything, how come there's geometric patterns on all of them? ]

@loki.odinson
Though the gap in time and universe make it difficult to pinpoint intention, of course.
[ he's seen it too, and that's certainly not the only place. ]

if you're so sure they mean something
think whoever drew that shit knows more than we do, or are they making shit up?

But that's the question, isn't it?
This world is starved in many ways- it could be either, really.

[ honestly, in comparison to westerley, this place seems to be doing okay. not worse, at any rate. ]

There's obvious disparity there.
But don't take my word for it, you should go see for yourself.

i knew a monk once who wanted a revolution
what are the odds of that happening twice

I'm curious to what you find out.
Drop me a line.
[ there's something he has to be sure of before he dives more, but he likes the curiosity it seems to spark in her. ]

@ojiro.juniper
I think the shrines mean we're being deified which is a really weird conclusion to jump to.
But I'm definitely not a religious scholar.

seems like it
not sure that's a great idea
[ but perhaps more importantly: ]
i've seen religious shit be used for hidden messages before
no subject
What were the hidden messages about?
no subject
some monks going to fight the devil
the devil being someone with an alien parasite in their brain that makes them really bloody hard to kill
no subject
[Good to know all that hustle they threw down at the ball might turn out to be doubly useful.]
What, did they not figure out the alien parasite stuff until later?

[ she was a bit too busy being drugged and confused and angry. oops? ]
not sure they cared

Are the symbols significant to the locals at all? I wouldn’t know, I’m afraid.

though apparently they've popped up before, so probably
@kylo.ren
( the more pressing concern is just who precisely the mystery artist might be? is it the same person or a group? )
